Hide it in the Hallway

I’m starting to wonder if I have a problem. No matter where we live, it never seems like we have enough storage space. I’m always stashing things in a closet, or tucking it away in a drawer, even shoving storage containers under beds. I’m not sure how a family of four that moves every two or three years accumulates so much stuff, but we have definitely managed. As a consequence to our apparent too-much-stuff-keeping, I’m always in search of furniture and home décor items that can do double duty as storage space. That’s why I went a little bonkers when I found this super cool barnwood sofa table with deep & spacious drawers. Our entrance hallway is narrow enough that it doesn’t allow the installation of a mud room, yet it’s spacious enough that I can put something narrow along one wall and still have enough space to maneuver around it. This sofa table has found a new calling as a hallway storage and display solution. Not only can I cram a bunch of kids’ crap in the drawers, I can showcase cherished photographs of my little darlings on the gorgeous top surface. Just because a piece of furniture is labeled for use in a certain room in the house, doesn’t mean that it HAS to be placed there. Old Sawmill Timber Frame Sofa Table w/ Drawers is just as useful in my hallway as it is parked behind a sofa. Heck, it might even come in handy as a light-use desk or kitchen work surface. If you ever come to my house, I ask this one thing: please don’t open the drawers on the table in the hallway. It may not be pretty in there.
