Our Contemporary Stool has copious character in a petite footprint. We carefully pick wood slabs with a deep, rich grain pattern. We search the world for the woods rich in character.
There are other stools in the marketplace that look similar and maybe can be purchased for slightly less money. How is that for honesty? Why would you want to buy our stools then? Well, we took the time to make the seat comfortable. Our buyers recently attended an international furniture show and sat in some similar looking stools. They sat in them and were disappointed with the comfort level. The shape of the seat hit your buttocks and legs wrong. The metal was also too thin and unstable. Our CEO and lead furniture designer flew to the factory and spent an entire day reshaping the seat so it sat better. They also specified a heavier gage metal to make the stool sturdy. Who wants to sit at a stool and socialize in an uncomfortable stool? Not us, and we do not expect our customers to accept style over comfort. This contemporary stool is both comfortable, sturdy and stylish.
Another big difference in quality is the finish. We hand sand each stool in our Michigan workshop and apply three coats of high quality clear coat finish. It is soft to the touch and will repel stains for many years. Our competitor's stools usually have an oil finish. An oil finish is a low cost finish option, and as the oil wears off over time the stool can stain from everyday use. Just the oils on your skin and touching it will lead to blotchy stains over time.
