This is a statement bed. This rustic log bed screams "Wow". The incredible solid slabs of live edge redwood tell a story by themselves. But when combined with the twisted juniper logs - each piece placed in just the right spot to support the free form shaped slabs - it becomes a functional piece of art. The juniper comes from remote areas of Colorado and Utah at elevations between 8,000 and 10,000 feet. Yes, you can find juniper in just about every state, but the really colorful and twisty juniper comes comes from remote areas in the high elevations. We have a crew up in the mountains reclaiming naturally dead juniper logs six months out of the year. Of course the best pieces are in deep ravines or on the side of a steep mountain. The men often have to wear safety harnesses and tie themselves off to safely harvest the wood. The hard work is certainly worth it. We would not be able to create this gorgeous beds without a steady supply of this beautiful wood.
