Hickory logs are a bitter smaller in diameter than other species, but do not let the smaller scale fool you as hickory is a very dense and hard wood. It is by far stronger than other woods and will handle anything the kids can dish out. This log bunk bed features a built in ladder for easy access to the top bunk. Now putting the functional aspects aside - this bed is gorgeous as it is made with natural hickory logs with its bark intact. It is sanded so it still has textures, but is soft to the touch (it is not smooth and that is by design).
