Sizeable branches are used in the headboard so that you can lean against the bed and read or watch television without fear of breaking any smaller twigs. The solid wood platform eliminates the need for a box spring by providing built-in support for the mattress. The platform features the same hand-peeled log legs used for the headboard legs.
